About Us

What a woman wears next to her skin are among the pieces she wears for the most hours in a day; on average, 15 hours.  It may seem like a small thing, but when these pieces are uncomfortable, fit poorly, or maybe just unappealing, they can have an enormous cumulative negative impact on your every day.

Conversely, when what a woman wear closest to her skin is comfortable, well fitted, and appealing to her, the positive impact has a ripple effect. How would it feel to reach into your lingerie, swimwear, or pyjama drawers and love your choices?  Envision a day with no adjusting, tucking, or tugging your bra.  How about a workout where you feel supported and secure?  Walking down a beach and feeling confident your bathing suit!  Or waking up in the morning with your breasts still inside your pretty nightie.
Bliss Beneath was born from founder and owner Tamara Disaverio’s desire to continue her journey helping women feel the best they can about themselves. Let’s be honest: none of us are (depending on your generation) Beverley Johnson, Christy Turlington, Beyoncé, or Bella Hadid.  But that doesn’t mean we can’t be the very best version of ourselves, whoever that is!

From AA cups to JJ cups and beyond, all women benefit from properly fitted, quality garments at a wallet friendly price point. No matter our age, shape, or size, we all deserve to feel comfortable, confident, happy, and beautiful.  There is no one definition of femininity, and we all deserve to fit!

We have fit all kinds of breasts: big, small, high, low, reduced, augmented, mastectomy, lumpectomy, sideways, centered, asymmetrical, perky, not perky, jiggly, firm… the list goes on. From AA to K cups, sports bras, every day bras, strapless, drop dead sexy, seamless, pocketed, T shirt, directional support, medical, etc.
There are many factors that affect the fit of a bra including tissue density, wide or close set breasts, breast shape, cup size and depth, band size and height, underwire shape, seamless versus directional/seamed support, band snugness, gore height, and molded vs soft cups.  All fittings at Bliss Beneath are complimentary; there’s no fee for our service or expertise.  Lots of women aren’t aware the alphabet of bra cup sizes doesn’t stop at D, DD, or DDD the way North American made bras do.  This means you don’t have to wear a bra band too big in order to get the correct cup coverage!
The cup size range of bras in stock at Bliss beneath is AA, A, B, C, D, DD, E, F, FF, G, GG, H, HH, J, JJ.  Interesting tidbit:  lots, but not all, European lingerie companies skip the letter I in cup sizes. We stock back band sizes starting at 30 and go to 44.  If you aren’t within these size ranges, we can happily special order for you at no extra charge after your complimentary bra fitting.  Whether you make a purchase or not, we can create a client profile for you where we keep track of the styles, sizes, and colours you prefer.  Hint:  this is a great way to give gentle guidance to anyone looking to purchase a gift for you!  As we grow, more band and cup sizes and styles will be added to our repertoire to better serve you.  Our product knowledge and selection makes your fitting experience easy and, believe it or not, pleasurable and fun!  We love helping you fit!

When you talk to women about bathing suit shopping, their responses are blunt, honest, and sometimes funny: “I always leave it to the last minute because I hate it so much.” “I’d rather go to the dentist.” “It’s depressing.” “Nothing fits.”  “I’m tired of black.”  “Why does a nice quality bathing suit have to cost $400.00?!?” “Given the choice of bathing suit shopping or dinner with my mother-in-law, I’ll take dinner with my mother-in-law!”  OK, let’s face it: we’re real women with real bodies!  We KNOW how it feels to get into a change room, put a bathing suit on, look in the mirror, and feel badly about ourselves.  After listening to women’s feedback on the bathing suit shopping experience, Bliss Beneath focused on selecting supportive styles, sizes, colours, and prints that women have said they want and are the most underrepresented in central Ontario.  We stock bra sized bikinis, tankinis, and one piece styles.  We also have tankinis and one piece styles to a U.S. size 22/3X that offer an optional pairing with a supportive swim bra up to a JJ cup and a 44 back size.  As we grow, we’ll add more designers and options to our selection as well.  Come in and see how our colourful and supportive swimwear and personal service can transform the bathing suit shopping experience into something easy and fun!

We are dedicated to helping support women before their surgeries (lumpectomy, mastectomy, reduction, enhancement, etc.) and during their recoveries.  Always follow the advice and direction given to you by your health care practitioner; however, some topics, such as what type of garment is required post-surgery, may not be covered in your appointments leading up to and directly after a surgery.  For example, some patients are required to wear a compression garment after their surgery while other patients require something soft with drainage capabilities.

Many women who have undergone a lumpectomy or a mastectomy aren’t aware that breast prostheses, whether a full prosthetic or a partial prosthetic, are considered medical devices, medical necessities, and thus are partially covered through OHIP.  In addition to partial coverage from OHIP, some private insurance health plans offer coverage for medical garments, pocketed bras, and breast prostheses.  You may prefer a bra with no pocket, and that’s no problem.  We can send a standard bra to our seamstress and have a pocket sewn in for your prosthetic at no charge to you.

Please come in to Bliss Beneath with your questions, and we’ll do our very best to answer them.  We carry medical garments, breast prostheses, and pocketed bras from Anita, a world leader in breast care products. We can show you the care items we stock, and if you need something we don’t stock, we are happy to order it for you at you extra charge.
