Stewing Beef
Description
Beef sold for stew (that is, trimmed and cut into bite-size cubes) is generally chuck or round—tough cuts that become tender and flavourful when slowly simmered in liquid. Beef round cuts (bottom and eye) are generally leaner than chuck (shoulder, leg and butt) and very well-suited to stew. (Avoid beef top round, which is just too lean to braise).
We carry a variety of meats including Grain fed, free range and hormone free chicken, grass fed beef, pork, our very own home made sausages, Kobe Beef, home made burgers (both fresh and frozen), a variety of BBQ sauces, a quantity of fresh bread from Barrie's very own Fox's Bakery and much more in store.
