The Dignified Funeral Alternatives Team
Steven R. Bridge
Owner/Managing Funeral Director
Steven was born and raised in Drayton, ON. After graduating high school he went out into the work force searching for a career path that he would find both fulfilling and meaningful. During this time he was offered a job at the local funeral home in Drayton and Palmerston. It is here that he would find his life’s passion, working in the funeral industry and with families in the community.
Steven attended Humber College and graduated from the Funeral Services program in 1996, and became a licensed Funeral Director in the province of Ontario.
After graduating, Steven set out seeking for a small community in need of a funeral home and funeral director. A community where he could help families in need. A community where he could raise his own family and feel like he was making a difference. He came across the small community of Angus, ON. It is here that he chose to move with his wife and small boys and open the Steven R. Bridge Funeral Home. While serving and helping many families in the Angus and surrounding area (since 1997), Steven noticed there was a shift happening in the industry. More and more families were seeking more of a funeral alternative rather than a traditional funeral. Thus a division of the Steven R. Bridge Funeral Home was born. In 2009 Dignified Funeral Alternatives opened their doors and began serving families in Simcoe County, Muskoka and the GTA. “Keeping things simple while treating everyone with the same dignity and respect” became Steven’s mission statement. Dignity is shown with respect...not expense, is our belief. We are truly about helping the deceased and their families in the most difficult of times. Whether they choose cremation or burial, celebration of life/memorial service in a hall or place of worship, or a graveside service, we are here to help guide you.
Steven continues to live in Angus with his wife. He has 4 grown boys and a grandson. He continues to fulfil his life goals by still operating the Steven R. Bridge Funeral Home and Dignified Funeral Alternatives in Barrie.
