About Us
About UsFitness Depot is the largest retailer of specialty exercise and fitness equipment in Canada, offering the guaranteed lowest prices in North America.
Edwin Cameron and Marc Dubois founded Fitness Depot in 1993. Their first location at 40 Ronson Drive in Toronto is still in operation.
Fitness Depot was the first and remains the only true big box fitness specialty retailer in Canada. In the early 90s, the partners adopted the now ubiquitous warehouse/depot concept to overcome the shortcomings of boutique fitness stores. By decreasing costs and leveraging their increased buying power, Fitness Depot offers the best brands at significantly lower prices than the competition.
Fitness Depot's success is based on industry-leading sales volume and inventory, their renowned lowest price guarantee, knowledgeable sales associates and a simple consumer-friendly marketing strategy.
Fitness Depot's focus is selling the top brands in specialty fitness. These brands include Precor, Pacemaster, Octane Fitness, Star Trac, Inspire Fitness, Concept2, York, Century, Torque Fitness and Fitness Depot's very own Canadian strength manufacturer Northern Lights.
Fitness Depot's Commercial Division caters to health clubs and the vertical market segment within the Canadian marketplace. Their FD Pro/Studio Products division caters to the smaller studios and personal trainer industry.
Since the inception of the Fitness Depot concept, retail and commercial sales are now in excess of $750 million. The five Canadian partners share the vision of expanding the business to surpass $1 billion in sales by 2010.
