Root Canals
Description
When a tooth is diseased or loses integrity, a root canal is often
needed in order to preserve the tooth. This procedure is needed when
the inner part of the tooth (pulp) has been eroded due to a cavity in
the tooth, and the deterioration has spread through the root. At this
point, the root canal procedure is administered by removing decayed
areas of the tooth and then replacing the area with a filling.
