Since opening our doors in 1988, Samson’s Salon & Spa has been the standard of hairstyling excellence and integrity in the Barrie area. For more than 20 years, we have provided our clientele with an ethically-sound, positive experience. We employ only the most qualified hairstylists, and pride ourselves on making sure that these stylists receive a continuing education in their trade. Samson’s makes sure to stay on top of the industry’s latest style trends, ensuring our clientele a professional result.

From curly to straight, thick to thin, we specialize in all hair types. Our color technicians are trained to create any look you desire, or correct any issue you may have. We offer many hair services for special occasions as well.

  • Owner and Head Stylist Doug Samson is the Past-Chair of the ‘Provincial Advisory Committee’ responsible for apprenticeship reform and setting industry standards in the hairstyling profession (2004-2008).
  • Doug and his staff has raised awareness and funds for the Rainforest Foundation
  • Founded Hairapalooza in 1990, showcasing Simcoe County’s hairstyling talents (formerly known as the Excellence Cup Hairstyling Competition)
  • Established the annual Barrie Parkinson’s Cut-A-Thon in 1992, along with fashion designer Marilyn Brooks
  • Support many charities, such as Women & Children’s Crisis Centre, Royal Victoria Hospital, Seasons Centre for Grieving and Traumatized Children, Big Brothers, Big Sisters, McLaren Art Center, Circle at the Center, Children’s Food for Thought breakfast program, Aids Foundation of Ontario, Sick Kids Hospital, Barrie Food Bank, and numerous other local charity groups.
  • Participated in the Save the Hair program to assist with clean-up of the Gulf of Mexico oil spill.
