Renting one of our containers for a home renovation or another type of project is a great way to make the job more convenient. However, there are certain things that we do not allow to be put into our containers, such as motor oil, car batteries, used tires, and appliances. If you have any of these items that youneed to get rid of, here’s what you should do with them instead:
Motor oil—If you have used motor oil sitting around in your garage, take it to the place where you get your oil changed. They will be able to dispose of it in the proper manner.
Car batteries—Many auto repair shops will accept used car batteries. Talk to your auto repair shop to find out whether they would be willing to dispose of a used car battery for you.
Used tires—A tire changing facility may be willing to take your used tires for recycling. Or, you might want to try to sell them to someone else. Remember, what’s junk to you may be treasure to someone else!
Appliances—If you have working appliances that you no longer need or want, consider donating them to a local charity. Although you may have to dedicate some time to dropping these things off somewhere, someone in need will likely appreciate having them.
